Hivemind (The Game)

Game Designer / Writer / Mo-Cap Actor
Project Overview
On this project, me with a team of 8 people worked on a game for Keiken, a prominent virtual artists group based in London who tasked us to create a sci fi game that was weird through its themes, visuals and story and present the game to the gallery Arebyte. We decided to make the game based off the short story I wrote of the same name.
My Contributions
- I worked as Lead Game Designer in charge of coming up with gameplay mechanics,  art style and the story.
- I also helped with Sound Design by using Foley to create some of the in game futuristic sounds.
- I also wrote the small pieces of dialogue and other writing like UI and menus in the game
- I had the unique privilege to mocap animations for the game like opening doors and crawling
786, an A.P.H android of the future, wakes up from a nightmare of sorts while charging overnight. He wakes up so violently that charging port from his nape breaks, which means he can no longer charge. He needs to find a new charging port so he decided to look around the apartment he lives in. His master is an abusive human who treats androids with disgust and uses them like a slave. The constant suffering 786 has experienced has scarred him. He decides to sneak around the house to look for a charging port. During his search he finds out a secret android lives in the apartment somewhere. He sets his mind to find it. While searching the apartment, he experiences these psychotic episodes where he is placed in a dark corridor with a gun at the end. The hivemind overwhelms him during these sequences and they encourage 786 to kill himself.
